Question for you folks in Amelia Island.

I'm thinking of booking a room for one night around Valentine's Day and I was wondering if Sunday is a good day to visit the area. Are places still open that day with things to do or should I consider a different day to visit. Thanks!

(I see that Fort Clinch is open 365 days a year so that would be a decent backup)

Sunday is a little slow (quiet), but for the most part everything is open downtown.

If your into kayaking there is availability (group rentals) Egans Creek Greenway is a nice scenic walk with wildlife and the north end of the island seems to be the spot for beach walkers looking for sharks teeth.

If you have something specific let me know.

They also depart downtown for day trips to Cumberland Island.

I personally think Sunday is the best day to visit the island. This is my favorite day as everyone else is in church till about noon. The island is so quiet, few cars. no one at the beach. A lot of places open in early afternoon.

Not much to add, but I agree with this. Aside from the beach, it is also one of my favorite times to go grocery shopping.
