Hi all,

I'm accompanying a family member to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville for a transplant surgery. The first two weeks will require us to head to the clinic everday early in the morning, and afterwards we'll most likely be chilling for a month or two until the day of the transplant (with the occasional visit to the Clinic)

Since I'm completely unfamiliar with the Jax area, I'd be grateful for any info anyone can provide. Based on initial research it a lot of people seem to recommend the Gate Parkway area. There's an extended stay Marriot in Deerwood that doesn't seem bad at all. I'm just wondering if the 202W Freeway gets super jampacked during the morning rush hours and will be a huge inconvenience during the first two weeks where we have to head in to the cilnic everyday?

As far as preference goes, we'd prefer a nicer neighborhood with close proximity to restaurants and grocery stores - the family member is oftentimes in a wheel chair, and is on an extremely low sodium diet, so easy access to healthy restaurants / grocery stores and areas that are wheelchair friendly would be great. We're also looking for areas that will have good physical therapy centers for rehabilitation. Open to extended stay hotels or condo rentals, but with so many communities, I'm just a bit lost as to where to limit my search.

Any help would be super appreciated. Thanks!

JT Butler Blvd (202) should not be too bad headed east towards the beaches as you will be going early in the morning, as predominatly the rush hour traffic is mainly headed west towards I-95 between 6AM and 9AM

This should be helpful. These are all medical exrtended stays. There's many better options than staying in a hotel room for months on end.
