Well, I haven't posted any photos in a while due to, ahem, issues I ran into previously. We'll leave it at that.

Anyway, decided to throw the wife and kids in the truck and head up to Amelia Island State Park yesterday for Mother's Day. Started out sunny and nice (had breakie at the Metro Diner in Jax Beach) but turned out overcast and it was trying to rain...until we got home where the sun came back out. Ugh... But we made the best of it.

Here are some shots:

1) Younger sun having fun on his boogie board

2) Series of my boys splashing each other as my younger son gets hit by a wave:

3)

4) It's getting him now...

5) Boom! And the frisbee goes flying!

6) They love the waves...

7) Mommy watching the boys...

And a few more...

1) Our little slice of the beach...

2) Looks like a private beach! Honestly, there really wasn't anyone within 50 yards of us on either side.

3) A little hand-held HDR. No, it wasn't that dark but I just liked the way this looks.

4) The road to...

Thanks. I wish we had some blue skies but, the overcast was nice because no shadows on the faces and no squints. Take the good with the bad....

Great pictures, mid summer you will still have the place to yourself.

My girls can't get enough! Hope you don't mind me adding two pics to your post

The more photos the merrier!

We normally go to Atlantic Beach but I didn't want to lug stuff from the parking lot to the beach--not that it's all that far since we go earlier than the tourists. When we drive on the beach, we normally go to Hugenot but wanted to try Amelia. Glad we did. A little farther but certainly less crowded. We'll be back for sure!

Grammar Nazi here...
There's no apostrophe in "photos" (and don't try to blame your iPhone autocorrect this time )

We usually head to American Beach most of the time and occasionally head to the state park. It is beautiful there as you have seen. I am so used to RI beaches where everyone's blanket is just inches away from you during the summer. Did you happen to notice the paved hiking, biking trail being built from Talbot to Amelia Island? You also passed by a really nice kayak launch facility on the west side of A1A heading north. Lots to do up at this end, though a bit of a drive for you.

I heard they were doing this, very cool.

We had a nice Mother's Day too (only with our dogs, our sons are across the Atlantic!).

We (on Amelia) went to Jasmine Beach around 8pm and had the entire place to ourselves.

What a lovely evening.
