Hello everyone! My name is Mandi! I am looking to relocate here in August. But I have some questions.

1. What are the best schools? My kids are in grades from K-5

2. What is a good/decent area to live in with kids? I am looking to rent and my budget is under $1200 a month, I prefer a 4 bedroom.

3. I am coming down next month to look at everything, so what hotels are good and not to expensive?

Thank you in advance!

Ok thanks! I forgot the most important thing my kids are mixed white/black. So I need an area that is open to this. Also do you know of a website that shows any rentals for this area?

Here's a list of Duval County Elementary Schools and their respective ratings, based on a test score:
http://schools.jacksonville.com/fcat...&action=Search

As you can see, there's plenty highly rated options.

The bigger picture:

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Duval County Public Schools is a "B" district for the fourth year in a row, according to the [SIZE=2]Florida Department of Education results released today for the 2011 year.

"Our schools continue to maintain a high level of achievement considering the increased level of rigor and new standards being assessed on FCAT 2.0," said Superintendent Ed Pratt-Dannals.

Every school district and every individual school receives a letter grade, based on cumulative FCAT scores and other factors. A school's grade shows how well it is performing relative to state standards
Pratt-Dannals is expected to give a news conference at 10:20 a.m. today to discuss the district's results.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Pinedale Elementary went from an F to an A
- 112 schools out of 131 schools got grades that were excellent, good or satisfactory
- 19 schools got a D or F

As far as location, a 4 bedroom on $1200/mo will be difficult. You'll probaly have to find something in the suburbs to get the size you want and be in a good school district. Can't get a 4 bedroom for $1200 in a good school district in the city. They're more expensive.
