I'm from NY originally, and have lived in Tampa Bay area for the last 6 years-- It appears that my Husbands job will be relocating us to Jacksonville FL-- I am completing my research as to the best area to live and have found St Johns County to be the best areas regarding Schools especially. I would like info on Julington Creek, Friut Cove, Mandarin etc... I believe Mandarin is Duval County, and heard that St Johns is better... I have a 8th grade daughter, and a son entering 11th grade-- any info would be appreciated .. Also can anyone confirm the demograghics of the student body/ general population in these areas?? Is the area racially diverse? Mostly white/ Black, mixed, hispanic?? It appears the area is predom. white? Please advise........

Thanks for the reply...Greatschools.com was and is a great tool.... I saw the school scores fcat for 2012 etc, and used that for our move to Florida 6 years ago...but didn't know how current the info was regarding the student body.... We are looking to rent since we have a property currently that we are unable to sell due to the economy, our move may not happen until end of August. Hopefully before school starts... Thanks everyone

St. Johns County Schools are consistently ranked the best in Florida.

Duval was ranked 50 out of 67.

There are some great magnet schools in Duval. But I wanted to be in a great school in the best school district. If you're choosing between the Mandarin area and Julington Creek, I would go with Julington Creek or one of the many other neighborhoods in St. Johns. If for no other reason than the schools.

We are relocating and have a beautiful house for sale in Durbin Crossing in Saint Johns. The best schools are located here! Our house has over 113K in options and is priced below what it can be built for today. The builder is Holder Johnson and IMO builds the best quaility in Durbin. See the link here :

1911 DUMFRIES CT ST JOHNS FL 32259 Watson Realty Corp

Good luck!
