The Tampa Bay Times newspaper reviewed Jacksonville's dining scene today, and guess what?

They recommended the historic urban core of Jacksonville as THE area to eat at, with Riverside & Avondale historic district and San Marco recommended specifically (that's half of the urban core of Jax).

So, add the TB Times to the ever-growing list of media that feels moved to write about these and the other urban core neighborhoods (Downtown & the Springfield historic district) of Jax. It's always these and the Beaches. Always.

Jacksonville, by knife and fork - Tampa Bay Times

Is there anywhere else worth living in Jax?

I agree these areas have the best food, which is why we travel there often to eat. That doesn't mean it's the best place to live though.

In JAX, no; in the metro area, yes

Still plenty of other places worth living.

As usual, you think what YOU like is what EVERYONE likes (or should like) and, as usual, you are incorrect. I have no desire at all to live in those areas. Many others feel the same. Just as many people want to live there. I like other areas better, however, I don't try to say you--or anyone else--HAS to agree with me.

Read to me like they were simply reviewing the restaurants they went to while they were here...and they are all good.
I didn't read anything where they reccomended the urban over any other area.
I imagine, though, your eyes were rolling in the back of your head and your legs were quivering as you read that little review.

It's much like every other outsider's review of Jacksonville: there's the Beaches and the historic Downtown neighborhoods......and not much else worth mentioning.

Southern Living, London Financial Times, Chicago Sun-Times, Bohemian Journal, Woman's World, Florida Trend, etc, etc, etc.

Add the Tampa Bay Times to the list.

Don't mind FSU, he's in his own world where living in those areas would be the only place worth living for everyone. There just is no reason one would want to live anywhere else (in his eyes).

He's like the crazy uncle everyone has....
