So I am relocating to the Jacksonville Heights,Jacksonville Fl area from PA. I am looking into buying a townhome in timothy's landing (they are beautiful!) the only problem I am having really, is all the negativity I keep hearing about jacksonville and it's crime and safety. So all I am asking is how is the Jacksonville Heights area?? Is it one of the better areas or not?? pleaseee help!

IMO ... Timothy Landing is NOT in a very good or desireable area. Less than 1 mile west of I-295 and 1/2 mile north of 103rd Street, not a very safe area.

I wouldn't say it's not in a desirable area. Rentals in that community are pretty solid. But, I do agree it's not the best area of town, as far as crime is concerned.

Middelburg is a very small and rural community. Never heard of the other.

The vast majority of Jax is just fine crime-wise. There are pockets that are not, like much of 103rd Street. But unless you're spending your free time on 103rd are one it's immediate off shoots then I suspect you wouldn't have anything unusual to worry about.

If you're trying to find a "safe" townhome to buy, state your price range, what you'd like to be close to, what sort of lifestyle you want, where you'll be working, and anything else that's important to you, and you'll get better suggestions.

Middleburgs, Lago Del Sur Townhouse community is a small neighborhood with 9 buildings and maybe 50 total units located approx 1 mile northeast of Middleburg High School & Blanding Blvd. just off of SR 220. I haven't been by there in a few years but from what I remember it was a nice area, but all heck and gone from being real convenient to anywhere in Jacksonville.

Well guys, thank you for the info. I actually pulled my offer for the townhome in timothys landing. I found another beautiful townhome right on the outskirts of middleburg about 15 mins outside of jacksonville i dont mind the drive still able to enjoy jacksonvilles highlights. I actually had a family member (their right in fruit cove) go look at the neighborhood, they said it was beautiful and quiet and ten times better looking then jackonville heights. Sounds good to me!
