Due to the hurricane passing offshore they're predicting some nice waves this weekend. Have to head over and check it out.

And take some pictures! I know I will be out there Saturday morning, on Atlantic Beach.

Planning to be at Jax Beach Pier by 7am Saturday morning. If anyone wants to join in, come on and join the group I'm getting together.

Sunrise is at 7:36am Saturday,(27-Oct-2012) so getting there at 7am gives one plenty of time to get set up and ready to shoot.

Yeah, I don't get up early easily any longer. However, this is the best time--right before we switch the clocks--because it's as late as it gets.

Luckily, I only live about 10 minutes away.

Yup. Not only that but you usually get a nice burst of light (for about 5 minutes) just before sunrise and just after sunset. People are usually in too much of a rush to notice.

My only concern is cloud cover and whether there are too many. I'm hoping for just the right amount from the storm. If not, I'll bring my long lens and shoot the surfers who will be sure to be on the big waves once the sun comes up.
