I had a wonderful time in Jacksonville this weekend. I visited the Cummer Art Museum & Gardens, Jacksonville Landings, and the University of North Florida campus.

I always love checking out everyon'e photographs of their home cities, so I thought I'd try it out. For those interested, here are some of my pictures. Hope you enjoy!

Great pix! You should submit them to CD. I took some when visiting Daytona and they are on the main site on the Daytona page.

Glad that you enjoyed our city!

Thanks, HIF! Which ones of Daytona did you take? I live about 40 mins north of there.

I did submit a couple of different ones to CD. Do you have any idea how to post photos so they come up as their actual size instead of having to click on each image? I haven't figured it out yet on my own.

I'm going up to Jacksonville again next weekend to visit the Museum of Science & History (MOSH). From the maps/directions it seems like it's on the downtown - South of the Acosta Bridge. Are there any areas near here worth checking out?

Thanks!

I upload mine to photobucket. They have several options re: the size that will post.

I-94 to Main Street Bridge exit- stay in the right and take Prudential exit before going over the bridge.

Check out Folio online- there may be nice outdoor things going on. I thik a new one comes out on Tuesday. There is a Maritime Museum next to the MOSH, but I've never been and don't know the hours. You could take a water taxi!

If you're going to the MOSH and haven't seen San Marco, it's just south, the heart of SM maybe a mile or so- very nice to spend a few hours, eat, window shop. I fyou take a walk behind the center of San Marco- toward the river, there are really nice homes. Fun to see them and the beautiful landscaping.

I took several on the Daytona site- The Jansen sign (red swim suit) , the old couple looking down the beach, the earthy-looking guy sitting and looking down the beach with his bike propped against the bench, one of the pier, the Speedway sign. It's really cool to see pix that you took on there!

Love your pictures! Especially the Pier. I took the plunge last fall and rode on the chairs - a bit scary when you're all the way at the end! Great fun. I don't know what it was like before (because I haven't been in FL very long), but I guess there used to be more shops & eateries along the boardwalk.

No, I've never seen the San Marco. My first visit (beyond Avenues Mall area) to Jacksonville was last weekend. It wasn't as difficult to get around as I was expecting, but when I toward 9A to get to the University the construction was insane.

Thanks for the tips. I'll check out the Maritime Museum and San Marco. I've never been on a water taxi before, that would be fun. And I always loev to drool over nice houses.

Thank you, Karla!

Please share if there's anything you think I'd like to see/do/visit in Jacksonville. I'm moving from FL at the end of this year and I'm trying to squish everything in before I leave.

Love the pics !

Yes, do check out San Marco - very picturesque . Look for River Road in 32207 to find a nice stretch of beautiful riverfront estates.
