The original title of this thread is ''Any transplanted NY'ers living in st.johns county??''
and being a native Floridian my initial thought is Yes! Too many. But without the diversity they bring the area would definitely be less interesting.

Thanks, guys. Lisa - thank you - very reassuring. Robyn, not so much. My husband and I are leaving Denver because of exactly what you say, and yes, we have a business that is completely "transplantable". Right now we are looking to leave behind his long hours in law enforcement and find a more balanced life. What part of town are you in?

I have done a lot of research online and we are heading down in a month to check it all out, but I am leaning towards Durbin Crossing. I def want the SJC schools.

Are you fellow SJC residents that are currently raising families with young kids finding it to be as great as everything sounds? Is there a high-percentage of stay-home moms? I mean I know in LI all of my friends have had to return to work. In Denver where we are now it's about 50/50. I would be home, but I work from home, so I have time to get involved and volunteer at the school and within the community. Would I be one of the few in Durbin or any of the SJC communities?

I may just start a new thread to open it up to more than the ones who see our title about NYers. LOL.
