So im moving to Jacksonville in about 8 months (currently in WV, but moving back home to Fargo, ND then to FL) and i have a couple questions.

I am 23 years old.
I will be moving down there for school (and to move to the beautiful state of Florida), i will be finding a student apartment (fully furnished already, individual leases, roommate matching etc, for college students).
How is the work down there? I have worked in restuarants and car dealerships for about 5-6 years. I just dont want to move there and not be able to find a $8-$9/hour job, i have some experience at some different jobs, just wondering if its hard finding a basic job.

I will have a convertable, so does it rain a LOT? Are there a lot of people my age? (23) or is it a older person city. And are there a lot of things to do? Just getting as much information as i can about the city/people/environment, so any info is appreciated!
Thanks so much!

Depends on who you are.

I just dont want to move there and not be able to find a $8-$9/hour job, i have some experience at some different jobs, just wondering if its hard finding a basic job.

If you present yourself well, it shouldn't be difficult to find a that kind of job.

I will have a convertable, so does it rain a LOT?

Eh. No, not a lot. But a fair amount. In the Summer is does rain frequently.

Are there a lot of people my age? (23) or is it a older person city.

Yes, but I'd live & spend time in neighborhoods where young adults congregate. Otherswise, Jax is very spread out city.

And are there a lot of things to do?

In Jacksonville? Yes. But Jax is a big city, and it's very spread out, so being in areas that have lots of interests for college students would be ideal.

The in-town neighborhoods that surrond Downtown (Riverside & Avondale historic district, Springfield historic district, San Marco) have more of younger people than the average area in Jax, as do the Beaches (Jax Beach, Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach).
