Hmm seems as if your auto is questionably reliable then you might want to be in walking distance of a good bus line or the places you might consider working. That way your ability to earn income is not solely reliant on your personal car.

Lived near Stockton and College St. for a year and a half. Never had a problem with crime. Occasionally there were some pretty boisterous young people partying, etc. late at night. That's about it. It's a great neighborhood. Probably the best overall in Jacksonville in my opinion.

@UnityJAX, the vehicle situation is irrelevant in this matter. If it comes down to it I can buy a new -used- car.

@abvavgjoe, loud drunks can be pretty annoying. If they aren't walking/driving near my car though I guess it's not a terrible thing. But also, if you mean only a 3-8 times a year then whatever that's just life. But if it's something that happened monthly I would probably begin to get irritated.

@WileyCoyote, I put most details in my first post. I would prefer 850+ sq feet but I can be flexible on this depending what the place has to offer.
