Everyone I ask seems to have a different opinion as to what areas of town are included in Mandarin. Some people include all of the area between Baymeadows down to St. Augustine including Fruit Cove, Switzerland, etc. Some people say it is only the area between 295 and Julington Creek. Some people include San Jose and Lakewood in Mandarin. Some people call the Baymeadows area Old Mandarin and the bump into the river South of 295 New Mandarin. I’m very confused. Also, how far East does it go. Does anyone actually know?

I have the exact same problem. Lot's of people say they "live in Mandarin," but live in various areas of the city. I have heard every part of the city South of Arlington and East of the St. John's River called Mandarin.

Mandarin ends at the Julington Creek Bridge...Fruit Cove area is not mandarin. My understanding also is that Mandarin ends at Sunbeam Rd. This is what I was told by my realtor back when we were looking at houses.

The NEFAR defines Mandarin as the area bounded on the west by the St. John 's river, on the north @ Baymeadows, on the East by Philips Hwy/US1, and on the south by Julington creek.

I always thought it was Sunbeam on the north, too. If it goes to Baymeadows, wouldn't that take in Beauclerc? And Miramar?

My understanding:

MANDARIN:

Beauclerc yes, Beauclerc is the northernmost point of the Mandarin area.

So I too would define the northern border of Mandarin generally as Sunbeam Road (though, technically, Beauclerc Road is just a bit north of Sunbeam).

So, Mandarin is made up of of smaller, defined neighborhoods like:

Beauclerc
Goodby's Creek
Scott Mill Road area
Plummer's Cove area
(and other general areas: Lorretto Road area, Greenland Road area, etc.)

NOT MANDARIN:

Mirimar: Mirimar is its' own definied area, but falls under 'San Marco area'

Lakewood: Lakewood is also its' own defined area and can also be considered either 'San Marco area' or 'San Jose area' (depending on which side of University Blvd that part of Lakewood is located ), but really, like Mirimar, Lakewood is just Lakewood .

Fruit Cove: Fruit Cove is not even in the same county! Definitely not Mandarin! Same goes for Switzerland.

Yeah, that makes sense since Goodby's Creek area is also Baymeadows Road area.
