There are definitely some bad times/places in the metro area. Like going over the Buckman Bridge "with the flow" at rush hour. OTOH - they're reasonably easy to avoid if one plans a move to a residence keeping in mind where one will be working. Robyn

I am assuming those golf lessons don't include downtown Jax, the commute I was referencing.

I'm not sure if the First Tee course on Golfair & Moncrief is downtown or not, so maybe yes maybe no. But either way
I usually have to drive through downtown from most courses to the south to get there, so lets not assume anything.

So we want to plan a trip to see more of Jacksonville. Would 2 days be enough?

Probably not, unless you know exactly where you're interested in looking. A whole week would be much better, as Jacksonville I have come to find out is the largest city area wise in the continental United States. Almost 900 sq miles. I have been here for 6 months now and am still learning my way around this huge area.

Ditto Wiley. This city is huge. I knew where my job was, so we narrowed down to a small area and it was still overwhelming. I would suggest either narrowing down your area or planning for more time.
