Bortles has flashes of brilliance here and there but all in all this team is winning despite him. I think this offseason will be very interesting to see if the Jags go for a big name free agent like Cousins (PLEASE?!?!) or decide to stick with Blake or even draft someone. Problem is they are now going to be drafting late 1st round so no QBs will be available unless they trade up.

I sure want Blake to succeed here. He's a good kid and says and does all the right things off the field, he's just not an NFL QB at this point and I'm not sure he'll ever be.

There are a couple of options who won't be around in the 1st round, more like 2nd or 3rd who could be good pro prospects. Ryan Finley from NC State, Nate Thorson from Northwestern and Josh Allen from Wyoming are all considered pro-caliber QB prospects.

Aaron Rodgers was available in the 20s. Weird things happen.

I'd rather go for Cousins or Taylor or someone like that if available and not spend a lot of draft picks to move up for a QB to develop. This team is built to win NOW everywhere else but QB.

Agreed. Kurt or Tyrod would be quite malleable to this system (Tyrod Taylor moreso, I believe). Kurt might be a bit pricey. Eli should no longer be a consideration.

I suspect that Khan and Coughlin are simply biding their time this season with Bortles as the 2018 free agent class of QBs is stellar:

1. Brees
2. Cousins
3. Tyrod
4. Bradford
5. Garoppolo
6. Keenum (playing extremely well now for the Vikes)
7. Bridgewater

With Cousins playing so well my guess is he's going to get a max deal and I'm unsure if the Jags could afford him without losing some of that defensive talent. But he's certainly the best of the available QBs at the moment. Playing lights out with a terrible O-line.

There's no way Brees is going anywhere, the fanbase would loot the city and he's very vested in New Orleans in terms of charitable efforts plus he/his wife reportedly love it there. I wouldn't think at this stage in his career (would be almost 40) he's going to nickel and dime, then run for the highest contract offer. The only ones in my opinion who stick out as franchise QBs you would go after (that would be available) are Cousins or Garoppolo. I would venture there's no way the Vikings will let go of Keenum at this point. Taylor, Bradford and Bridgewater's QBR numbers are not indicative of a franchise QB hovering in the mid 80s-90.

horrendous playcalling at the end. Oh well, moving on to the Colts. Coaching, offense and defense all need to learn from this game and improve for next week.
