From an article I read today, appears that Bortles is on his way out of the Jags and they will be signing Foles. Have to wait until "the pen hits the paper" to find out.

I also wonder if the Jags were one of the teams who talked with Arizona at the combine about the availability of Josh Rosen.

I hope if we pick up Foles the revolving door of quarterbacks finally remains closed for quite a few years.

I really thought Garrad was going to be the one.

If they do pull the trigger on Foles, they're going to need to get him some weapons. OL, TE and WR should be the focus, even though this draft has a ton of DL talent. Maybe they trade down in the hopes of landing some more picks.

I will say, as an Iowa fan, you can't go wrong with either of the the Iowa TEs, Fant or Hockenson. Fant is the better receiver but Hock is the entire package - he can block and is a very good receiver. At this point the Jags virtually have no one at TE so it wouldn't surprise me if they got a TE with their first pick.

I certainly hope so, I am first and foremost a Patriots fan but since relocating here and was around to see the Jags welcomed to Jacksonville I have always pulled for them also. Hometown team, I just wish they could catch a break for once.

The Jags had their chances, so I don't want to paint them as the "unlucky losers".

The team has:

1) Passed on QBs such as Mahomes, Watson, Trubisky, Jackson in the past 2 years.
2) Completely air balled the 2018 draft. Taven Bryant barely saw the field last year and none of the other players drafted did much of anything. Jacobs and Harrison improved but not yet difference makers.
3) 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018 first picks were all either total flops or have proven not to be worthy of being a 1st rounder (Fournette, Fowler).
4) Winning the meaningless game vs. the Dolphins late last season moved the team back in the draft order behind the Giants, thereby assuring the Giants of getting Haskins while now the Jags are stuck with Foles and likely a flyer QB in the later rounds.
5) Jags spent the most money on free agents from 2014-2016 and got 11 wins to show for it. Julius Thomas being the biggest swing and miss thus far.
6) Don't get me started on the Bortles contract. E-gad.

I could go on but I feel like the Jags seem to repeatedly shoot themselves in the foot with respect to drafting and free agent signings. I know hindsight is 20/20 but my goodness, you'd think by sheer luck you could do better at either/or the draft or free agent signings.

....And these are the reasons why David Caldwell should be unemployed.
