Good morning, my wife and I are considering relocating to Jacksonville area and have read many of the threads already started on this topic. I suspect we may rent short term to figure out the area and be sure to pick the place that we feel the most at home before buying? We would like to get in touch with a highly recommended agent to begin the home search at this time so I was hoping for some recommendations from you all?

Thank you!

Different realtors seem to specialize in specific areas of Jax - do you know what area you might be interested in? I have a great realtor who knows St Johns County very well. Personally, if schools are a concern, SJC would be my first choice.

Schools are of no concern, looking for homes in a gated community in the $350,000- $375,000 price range? Maybe less but not more than that? The searches we have conducted on line seemed to end up in the St. John's area so far but the potential job for myself would be better suited in the Lakeside/Avondale area? We did find a few homes we loved yesterday, 3 car garages with pools. That is why we would like to talk to a realtor that we would be comfortable with.

I would be very interested in your agents name? I do not mind traveling to an office if the area is nice where we would live, with the job I would not be in the office daily anyway?

Thank you!

Crissie Cudd is the Southside Watson Realty manager, she's excellent:
Crissie Cudd - Real Estate Agent in Jacksonville, FL - Find a REALTOR(R) - Realtor.com®

As is Reggie Fountain:
Reggie Fountain - Real Estate Agent - Find a REALTOR(R) - Realtor.com®

As is Amanda Searle:
Intown Jacksonville*historic & intown real estate - Intown Jacksonville Historic and Intown Real Estate

They're all easy to work with and accommodating. They all would be very familiair with the Avondale neighborhood as well (the older, historic neighborhoods of Jax are very different from most of the city).

Other areas in your price range that you may want to consider are Ortega, San Marco, and Grenada/Miramar.

Please, please do not use Steve Jones from RE/MAX. We had a nightmare experience with him about 4 years ago. Msg me and I'll be happy to share the story.

hlauburn is right. If you can narrow down the area(s) you are considering you would do well to find a Realtor who has market expertise in that geographic area. Because Jacksonville is so spread out there are plenty of agents who have sold dozens of homes in say, Avondale, but don't do much work in the Bartram Park area. I am an agent and about 85% of my business has been in northern St. Johns and Mandarin, two areas I know inside out. As much as I would love the business and am capable of selling homes at Jax Beach, customers would be better served by an agent who does most of their business there. In a market as big as Jacksonville it is difficult (impossible) to be all things to all people and do it well.
Good luck with your search!

I'm also going to be looking for one soon, in Ponte Vedra Beach area. Any recommendations? (sorry to barge in, just didn't want to start another thread on same topic). Thanks!

Well, we are coming down soon for 10 days to see what area works best for us and hopefully look at a few homes? I will be reaching out to one of the realtors mentioned above for some input on the different areas.

Thank you for the great advice!

I live in the Julington Creek area, and it is very nice, all the amenities, small town flavor and a sense of community, but with all the advantages of a bigger city right next door. Could try Nocatee, and the beaches as well.
