Hi!

I am trying to find some help here. I plan to move back to Jacksonville with my family the end of May so I can attend UNF. My two hardest parts about this move is finding an affordable house, and them accepting 2 "aggressive" breed dogs. Despite what these ignorant insurance companies think, my dogs are NOT aggressive by any means. I mean, my pitbull does like to lick a lot? Maybe that is what they see. Or Maybe my Rotty/Shepherd's tail might smack you in the legs. But that is about as far as that goes.

I prefer to live in a decent area where my 4y/o can play outside without any concern. I lived in Mandarin back in '04. Does anyone on here have any idea of where to look? I'd like rent to be $800ish, and 2 bedroom. I dont think I would find anything in St. John or Coral Springs. Maybe? I do not care for Westside. Everything else I may consider.

Fair or unfair, the position taken by landlords is what it is, and whether it's because of their own insurance liabilities or not, policies are in place to exclude certain breeds.

But that's not to say it will be impossible. My first thought is to look for a rental that's not an apartment complex or another type of multi-family housing which are usually managed by a professional company that is more rigid in its policies. You might have more luck with an owner/landlord. I'm not well-versed about where to find these .... craigslist maybe? Anyone else have ideas where to search?
