It's possible that your status with a particular airline influences your luck, but it's still random. Also, if you pay to be on the list you don't even get it 100% of the time. The randomness is part of the security measures, but it certainly does deter people from paying to be on the list when there's no guarantee.

You are so right, projectmaximus. Lately I have been waved on through by TSA without a question. I guess it is just luck or maybe my benign profile.

Hah!
I had already visited that site, but missed the *minor detail* that joining does not mean you still get waved through to the fast lane.

I have almost zero airline status (I am not really loyal to any one airline though I love Southwest) and my "random" security experiences have been more the opposite: I've been chosen for extra pat-downs twice on international flights, and once in Schipol I got invited behind some screen for a special sit-down interview.

Maybe that's why I got all starry-eyed about my TSA precheck thing.

Seems like a lot is going on at the St Augustine Airport. I have been seeing their name a lot in Jacksonville news.

I was at JAX twice in three days this week, it's leaps and bounds better than any other airport I fly through. Simple, fast, convenient, so easy to get in and out quickly there, I love it!

Where do you see this? I just checked and see no such thing. On the other hand, I'm surprised that Jacksonville has so little domestic flights.

Well, technically just one stopover if you go through LGA, JFK, EWR, ORD, IAH, IAD, DFW or ATL.
