In terms of the Nutcracker - Jacksonville does at least two different productions that I know of every season. Typically girls tryout from various studios to make the cast. There is the Community Nutcracker in Jacksonville - Community Nutcracker in Jacksonville (tyrouts dates are already on their website - September 5-7th for production in December 2014) and First Coast Nutcracker. I do not know of any single studio that puts on their own performance of the ballet. Hope this helps a little!

Regarding tennis, Todd Martin left last year. His ex-partner is still making a go of it (Danny Witt). Some talent seems to have migrated to Marsh Landing. In January, they decided to capitalize on it - creating a Jr. Tennis Membership meaning non-Marsh Landing members participating in the Jr. tennis would have to cough up an additional $1200/year just to participate in the clinics.

Approximately only half the Marsh residents are CC members (we learned on our tour) so, apparently, there is a membership drive going on.

Worth it? I'd say not. Within a week of paying $1200 up front for the year, the head coach told us private lessons were no longer available to our kids (scheduling conflicts on their part - WHAT?). That, along with other issues leads me to believe that, since they have you locked in for a year, they stop trying/caring about winning you back session after session. Our experience went from good (the best we've found since moving to the area - by no means great) to frustratingly unacceptable. The coaching is certainly not any better than that found in other programs in the area. Curious to see how long they try to keep milking non-members for the Jr. Tennis membership fee.
