Hello All,

I am ecstatic to be relocating to Jax (in July) for a new job. A little about me (1st post) - recent graduate, 23 yrs old, single, male, "yuppie", raised in the west, attended college in the east, active/outdoors, and very open minded. Anyways, I have decided to live in the Jax Beach area as I always wanted to live at the beach and it is so affordable here. WOW! It is still a little early but I have begun searching for a rental. I have a couple of quick questions:

1. My understanding is that quite a few rentals are never listed on the internet and the old fashion for rent sign is used. Is this correct? Oh not sure if this will help but my rent range is anywhere from 1400 to 2400 and I will have a roommate.

2. I will be working downtown - what is the rush hour commute like between Jax beach and the downtown. Time? Road rage? Number of near death experiences?

3. Thoughts on the new BluWater Apartments? Anyone know of any issues with the construction or location?Ideally, I'm looking for a small beach house walking distance to the bars/beach but brand new apartments with a pool/community would be pretty nice. Thanks!

1. mhm
2. i think it might drive you nuts. You'd probably be heading down JTB and the interchange with I-95 is pretty awful. I've seen it awful at I-295 as well, but since I generally don't go this way on a regular basis I don't know if that is a daily occurrence or not.
3. I do not know.

welcome to Jax!
