I have discovered that the mosquitoes in JAX are madly and passionately in love with me. Unfortunately, their love is unrequited. Short of bathing every day in Agent Orange, does anyone have any tips, advice or favorite products.

Thank you.

These two products are as good as it gets without DEET. I believe both are available at Ace hardware stores.

SwampGator All Natural Insect Repellent repells flies, gnats and mosquitoes without deet

Edited to add that sometimes our gnats are so bad that nothing beats a cheap, nasty cigar.

The only thing that keeps them off of me is when Ive just gotten out of the pool and am covered in chlorine water, other than that nothing works.

When you know you're gonna be outside when the skeeters are at their worst, wear long sleeve shirts and long pants. With our backyard oak tree canopy, we make our kids do this when they're outside playing in the summer.

I have read somewhere (forget exactly where) that a healthy intake of B vitamins discourages mosquitoes from biting and feeding on you. One B-50 complex a day does it for me.

I have heard good things about these products Effective Mosquito Repellent for Outdoor Areas | ThermaCELL Instead of you wearing the repellant they put it in the air around you. I wonder about their effectiveness in a breeze but some folks rave about them.

I see the 90° temps in next weeks forecast, if they're bothering you now you may want to start shopping...

When I first went to Kathryn Hanna Park to ride the trails last summer, the mosquitos were really bad. I used this and it worked very well. Has an interesting smell. Not saying I'd use it for cologne, but it's not as bad as your typical insect repellent.
