Hi,
My husband may get a job in J and would like to know where a safe reasonable area to live is. We're looking for 3br 2b, 2 car garage, no restrictions for parking a motor home. Maybe even an RV park for a motor home for a short period (2-3 mo)of time b/f buying a home. We're not familiar with the area. Please share your thoughts

Sounds like you'd want to live in an older area since the newer ones will have restrictions on your RV (usually, you can't have an RV inside the new neighborhoods).

I think we need more info to point you in a direction though:

1) Where will your husband be working? You'll want to figure commute time into your location decision.

2) Aside from RV parking, what are your requirements for location? Do you like rural areas or suburban? Do you need to be near shopping, the beach, hospitals, etc.?

3) What is the budget/price point you'll be looking in?

He will be working around Southside Blvd and Hwy 90. We do like the rural area. Being near a shopping area isn't important as long as it is within 15 - 30 min away. Are there any RV parks near by that we can set up an RV for 2 - 3 months and live in it until we do by a home? Our price range is up to $210,000. We still need to sell our home in Hollywood, which concerns us b/c the market is so bad, but getting this job will be a blessing for us. Thanks for your help!

Look around Old Plank?, Chaffee Road, Crystal Springs area. RV's are acceptable there and its rural. Theres new houses in old areas so restrictions are less. You can get an acre of land and park your RV there too.

Ryde's suggestion of the Westside is a good one, it is generally an affordable part of town and you can often find a home with a large lot.

I'd also consider looking at Arlington. Arlington is on the Southside region of the city (your husband will be working on the Southside) and there are some affordable older neighborhoods where the vibe is relaxed enough that you can park your RV on the property.

My vote would be in Mandarin. It's very central to most places. Most of the homes are on much larger lots, no restrictions or fees, and beautiful mature trees. Shopping is convenient, and area is safe. Loads of 3/2/2 available right now for good prices.
