yea, torrential rain will cause it to go out. everyone is right about the install. If you get a good technician that spends a good bit of time peaking your dish, you will have a better experience than most. That's why I always offer the techinicians water or beer and tip them a little at the end (especially if its a really hot day).

Yes it definitely depends on the neighborhood and the install. I was a pet sitter up there and the old tree lined streets were the worst.

And also my apartment in Avondale but the landlord did a crappy install IMO. Every time he called for service it was much better. For awhile LOL.

Other clients had no problem at all. The problem with DTV is there's a termination liability last time I knew....so it's not so simple to just break your contract if you get bad reception. When we sold DTV at AT&T the contract was two years but maybe that changed.
