I appreciate reading this forum. I also work from home. We were close to making an offer on a house in Palencia moving from Northern Virginia. Unfortunately we have to reconsider as I need a minimum of 150 Mbps. I currently have 300Mbps. Now I realize why property values are so much lower than in other nearby areas. It's a shame as I like the area, but my work life revolves around high speed internet capability.

Before you make a decision based upon your internet access, you need to look into whether you have other options. Check with your realtor to see if the home you are looking at is limited to Litestream...in much of the neighborhood you now have a choice.

Plus...we are finally getting a Publix.

You're in luck. AT&T now offers fiber optic internet in Palencia with a max down/up load speed of 1000Mbps or 1 Gbps.

I am extremly desapointed with the services provided by Litestream. The higher number channels (higher than 90) have frequent interruptions of program together with very frequent pixalations.
I called last night to request a new list, lineup, of Direct-Connect channels (as they continually change numbers) and the Litestream representative just sent me to the internet. On the specific question of the channel number for ION the representative (I ignore asking for his name) give me numbers 11.1 and 11.3. I check those numbers, while still on the phone, and found that i could not access any channels below 12.1. The representative concluded that must be something wrong with my TV (a one year old Sony) and that I should contact the manufacturer. Later, by searching, I found our that ION is on channel 21.1.
The good news is that AT&T now offers fiber optic internet in Palencia with a max down/up load speed of 1000Mbps or 1 Gbps. I will contact the Palencia Association to find out when my contract with Litestream expires to be able to join the AT&T.

Have the issues with poor internet and cable with Litestream in Palencia been fixed? Are other service providers now allowed in Palencia?

Hi AT&T is available as an internet alternative and they are fast and provide good service. For cable no alternative to Lightstream BUT AT&T offers Uverse that rides their Internet and many other residents are using Direct TV and Dish. Litestream is better than they were but not as good as AT&T.. Litestream is cheap however so we use them for cable and AT&T for internet.

I’m in Palencia (south) and have had Direct TV/ATT for 2 years. I know few -if any- people that still have Litestream. Even the Lennar (Palencia North) section that operates under a different CDD had the option finally to switch/opt out.
No Comcast though.
