Where is the best areas for youth soccer in Jacksonville? We are looking to buy a house within 25 min. to a beach. So we are considering NE Jax and the southside. Any advice is appreciated.

Soccer Shots has a good youth soccer program and they have clinics throughout Jax and St Johns Co. But are you asking where you would buy a house to be closer to soccer????

I'll put it this way...both my kids are involved in soccer. I don't want to drive 40 minutes to soccer games. So it is one factor in our decision making process on what area to buy a house.

OK, well you should plan on driving 30-40 minutes for just about everything in Jacksonville. It is the single largest contiguous city in the US and traffic can be a bear. But if you're centrally located it might help to mitigate that daily drive.

But if you utilize Soccer Shots or I9 Sports camps, there are so many offered there is a good chance you'll be close by one of those.

Are those recreational programs? I'd imagine the OP is talking about Travel Soccer, where you play for a club, and play home and away games vs. other clubs, not a rec program where you show up at the same place and see the same people every week.

I'm interested in this information too.

You should check out Florida Elite Soccer Academy. Jacksonville Youth Soccer Club (JYSC) and Creeks Soccer in St. Johns have merged.

There is both recreational and elite/travel clubs.

South is Creeks, Central is JYSC

These are really good programs and nicely located as well. It takes approximately 3 minutes to get to the fields from surrounding neighborhoods.

There's also JFC based at Patton Park on Hodges. All the travel soccer clubs mentioned are good.
How old are your kids?
Ignore above advice about 30-40min; you are on right track that if your kids will be soccer players, it's smart to live near one of the club's home bases. You can be 5 min from one of them.

I have 3 girls, two who play soccer ages 11 and 5 (other daughter is still a baby). For now, we'd probably just stay with a rec programs as that's what we have done in Buffalo, NY. But, my 11 year old loves soccer and is getting very good so I'd like her to play more competitively like in on a travel team after we buy a house and are more settled.
