So I know it is always nice when someone solicits info on this board that they come back and share their outcome. While we only have a month of residence in SJC now, we all feel it is such a good fit. Granted we haven't started school yet (two second graders who will go to Durbin Creek) and I'll come back and update regarding that once we've had some experience there. So far everyone we have met has great things to say about the school(s).

We found a home to rent in JCP. I was fortunate enough to friend up with a realtor on FB that helped me find the right house for us. We have neighbors on every side of us with kids the same or close in age to our kids. We feel the area is very safe. Our kids have more freedom than they ever did in our neighborhood in Indianapolis.

My husband found work right away and has much more opportunity here. He works in the construction/interior design industry so there is no shortage of work with all the building and remodeling. I work from home and my only complaint is Comcast internet and how far we are from the airport when I have to travel (only 4 times/year but we made the trek last week).

Thank you to all the area residents that helped answer my questions and provide input about the area. I will keep coming back here and try to do the same as we further settle and experience living here over time.

Great to hear you are settling in fine. I used to live in the Pike Township in Indianapolis, and the weather and neighborhoods here are so much nicer.

I agree completely with the airport commute. But I've had good experiences so far with Comcast internet, hopefully your issues will improve with time.

Care to tell us what your complaint with Comcast is, as the only complaints about Comcast I ever see on here references their poor customer service.

I am also in the Indy area and am looking at relocating to Jacksonville. Glad to hear it's working out for people! The job market seems strong so far. Have the people that lived in both places really enjoyed it?

I lived in Indianapolis from 2008-2011. I enjoyed my time there but was working for most of it. I thoroughly enjoy my time in Florida now much more, it's much closer to Disney and visiting family out of state (7 instead of 13 hour drive).

Also a big factor is that I have a much better job now. I think if I lived in Carmel or Zionsville instead back then, I would have enjoyed Indiana much more so!
