Could you please let me know the best christian private schools in the duval county area. My kids will be joining the elementary schools. I am looking for great acedemics, sports, school culture such as christian teachings, discipline and peer influence. I'm concerned about the influence of other kids from the school. Please advise. Thanks

I've heard nothing but good things about Providence- from employees, students and parents.

My kids go to Hendricks Day School and we are very happy there. They go through the 8th grade. It had been affiliated with the United Methodist Church, but is now not considered a "Christian school" (correct me if I'm wrong, gang), but they have a Christian religion class/program every Friday. There are children of other faiths there, as well. I guess it is Christian Light! Welcome to Hendricks Day School (http://www.hmds.net/new/mainframe.asp - broken link)

I also hear good things about Mandarin Christian School and they now go through the 12th grade. Mandarin Christian School

Thanks RYDE41 and HIF. I have been homeschooling my kids and they are very bright kids. But they have been missing out on socializing which is why I am considering putting them in the school. I have heard good and bad things about Providence. I heard that some of the older kids do drugs, not sure how far that is correct.

Other moms out there who send their kids to private schools, please provide your input. Let me know the plus and minus' of the schools. How is the influence of other kids on your kids? Also are there public schools that are highly rated than the private schools in the Duval county area?
