Any place is what your make it. Some places have more going for them, like we have the beach which is a plus for many people. If you move to Kansas City don't ***** about it being far from the beach. Miami has international flair, but don't move there and complain about the cashier at Publix speaking Spanish.

Accept places for what they are, if someplace isnt for you it doesnt mean that someone else wont love it

Jacksonville smells, and the town really is the armpit of Florida, not sure why anyone would move there vs somewhere like Tampa

You are right about that...I have never thought of it like that, but that is the best comparison I have heard.

This is someone who has probably not done more than drive through Jacksonville. The smell of Jacksonville was from paper mills that closed 20+ years ago; the assertion is off by many years. People in south and central Florida view Jacksonville as it was. Take any city 20+ years ago and its changed. Times square used to be know as being crime ridden and scary. The same stuff all the time... it smells, really part of south Georgia, full of rednecks waving the stars and bars, gun violence rampant, and the best I heard that there are lots of people with AIDS looking to spread it around. I heard all these things when i lived in Orlando area; funny thing is that none of the people had never even spent time in Jacksonville other than driving through on the interstate.
