Zillow doesn't even have the correct SF or number of bedrooms & bathrooms for my property- and it's the original structure, no additions.

Default since I live here I can say this...

someone earlier said "This is an interesting thread. A few weeks ago I went to Atlanta and when my friend announced to her friends that I was from Jacksonville, the response from one was "OH". I asked what she thought of Jacksonville and she said that it has "bad vibes". The others all agreed to one degree or another and several said that nothing really comes to mind when they think of Jacksonville. The only tangible quality that was mentioned was crime. No positives.[/quote]"

AND What does Atlanta have....big houses, lower taxes, landlocked, no sense of identity, huge sprawl, lots of traffic, huge materialism...etc...could go on and on with issues on Atlanta.....I would move to Jacksonville tomorrow! Tell those people to nevermind...and crime, woah, watch the Atlanta news.

I lived in ATL for 8 yrs, those big homes u mention usually are far away in the burbs, anything close to the city of ATL is outrages.Traffic in ATL is a nightmare, commute times are probably tripled compare to Jax.There may be more to do in ATL,but crime is just as bad there if not worst. Now that I am back I have a extra $300 dollars in my pocket minus Ga's state tax. Also people in ATL are not very friendly and u may get runned over on 285 if your not going 100 miles per hr.All cities have problems.

If you're looking for an identity, Jacksonville is best known as being a military town. We used to have three naval bases: Cecil Field, NAS Jacksonville, and Mayport. We still have two. Camp Blanding is not too far away and neither is King's Bay. That's a lot of military bases concentrated in one area.

Sounds like you did what I am about to do. My family and I are moving to Jacksonville to live with my wifes parents. I was just laid off and I hate NYC. I live in New Jersey. I just hope that it's a good move but from your explanation you seem to be in the same situation as am I am now. I am unemployed I hate NYC and the cold weather sucks.
