*With the exception of Chinese food, it got its own thread already.

So we're lacking a sushi/Japanese thread here! Along with other Asian cuisines.
We should talk about it, ok?

Sushi places that are nice and for me to worth mentioning:
Koja Sushi - downtown and baymeadow location, hit or miss depending on who's making it The pieces are big and the rolls are delicious, presentation is decent. Their Korean food is very good too (Korean owned after all). Korean lunch box specials are delicious and plentiful.

Sekisui - hidden away in the corner of university and san jose blvd. A East cost chain that offers authentic Japanese food, chefs are trained to cook and prepare the proper way (according to their website). And it actually shows in their quality sushi and the sushi rice they make. Sometimes they offer specialty dishes (grilled beef tongue, grilled fish cheek). They offer regular dishes that you don't find in other local Japanese restaurants.

Osaka buffet - ok fine yeh it's a buffet place...but it's a good buffet place with decent sushi stuffs and sushi chefs, plenty of fresh rolls and sashimi. It's one buffet place that I don't mind eating sushi. Sometimes see them taking fishes out of sealed packages, so it's some ok stuff! Had some awful stuffs elsewhere.

Dorama - vague memory of this place, had it long time ago when there was a real Japanese sushi chef preparing fine foods. Rare sight in JAX.

I'm getting ready to try Sekisui.....possibly this weekend....will get back to you.

On the "Dorama", do you mean "Daruma"? That's an old Jax sushi place and it's very good (it's on Beach Blvd).

You can always go back and edit your own posts if you want to.

I went to KOI Japanese Steakhouse which is right beside the Brooklyn Pizza and Manhattan Cafe at Baymeadows and 9A on a Friday night. The place was full around 7 ish. And I thought their rolls were very good, slightly expensive but really good. Tasted fresh.

Then I went to Sushi House at the SJTC and basically ordered the same thing as at KOI the week before. And I could definitely taste a difference in the food quality.....that KOI was much better....but also more expensive.

Went to Osaka today.....crazy weekend, not much time for anything else.

I hadn't been to Osaka in a long time, but I'm definitely going to return. I think it is one of the better buffet-type sushi places.

They had "real" sushi and sashimi in addition to all the different rolls - more than enough to choose from.

We got in at an odd hour, but by the time we were ready to leave, the place was packed - there was a line out the door.
