Hi Duke. I think DR Horton used to be called DW Hutson about 20 years ago. We had a DW Hutson built in Jax and loved it. It was a great house. The only problem we had was the Georgia Pacific siding that they paid to have replaced. I don't think they use that anymore anyway.

DW Hutson was an entirely different company. DR Horton bought them out, and while DW Hutson was indeed a fair builder, DR Horton is widely known here in NE Florida to be one of, if not the, lowest quality builders around. They use only the lowest bidders for both labor and materials, and you should at a minimum do a Google search on DR Horton reviews in Florida.

We are currently building a home in River Glen....DR Horton is one of the biggest home builders in the United States so I am sure there are homeowners who have had issues...However I believe if you keep constant communication with the builder and the site site foreman all should be ok...For the price and the size we couldnt beat the price...Our home will be complete in July. Please let me know if you have any questions.
