Wife and I will complain how dry our backs are sometimes. Not as much as we did in Colorado, but we still do it. My wife's allergies are definitely worse here and I never had to take an allergy med when we lived in Colorado............I do now though. Every State has its Pros and Cons.

Also, one last note with allergies, it takes several years upon moving for you to develop new allergies to the stuff in your new location. So a visit for 2 weeks usually won't be enough for a long-term forecast if you will be suffering or not.

Your experience with allergies won't be everyone elses. Some counties in Colorado, including the one Denver is in, have both daily problems with ragweed and high concentrations of ozone. In general, Florida is not worse than Colorado for allergies, it just depends which allergies you *have*. And it also depends on how long you lived in both states. If you lived less than 3 years in Colorado, then chances are you simply haven't developed allergies yet.

If I live near or on the beach does be ocean breeze make a difference in lowering the heat and humidity a bit? Can someone survive in Florida with asthma and allergies?

If not I may have to move to California. It's just the California is so darn expensive

Floridas weather is fairly consistent no matter what part of the state you live in. Right now temps and humidity look to be very nice with highs in the 80s and 30% humidity(Tampa), however starting next month you will be looking at daily highs around 90 with a substantial increase in humidity for the next 6-7 months, some love it some hate it,if you hate it A/C is your only option if you remain in Fla..

If you don't like humidity, Florida is likely the very worst place to live in all of the US.
Agree 100%. You can also throw New Mexico and Northern Arizona in the mix.
The heat and humidity here in FL is unbearable to me, add the very high pollen this time of year, I stay indoors.

I would leave but can not convince hubbie.

Some will say you get used to it, I don't think so it's more like adapting to it by staying indoors on unbearable days, getting your chores done early in the morning.

Lived there for 5 1/2 years. Wife has always had problems with allergies and, years ago, with asthma. But, my allergy problems didn't start until a few years ago and, we were living here.

Actually, we have family and friends living in So. Calif. that tell us that they would visit here, but could never live here due to the humidity. It can get quite stifling.

Wildfire smoke can/does get pretty bad here. There have been weekends that we couldn't couldn't go outside, let alone take our power boat out. We could see the smoke in the air here where we live. Wildfire smoke never once hit us when we lived south of Denver in Parker and Englewood.

Great thing about America is you can go live where you want to. Humidity doesn't bother me. I will say that by late Sept. I'm tired of it though.

LOL that is so funny. I will look at it like this. If I don't like Florida after living there for a year I will just move to California.
