I've been spoiled the last year or two. When I had cable boxes die and took them in for replacement at the Comcast office near Gate Parkway - I got newer good looking (albeit) refurbished boxes. Had one die this weekend. Took it to the new Comcast office at Beach Blvd. and Hodges. It's a nice office. But the box I got in return for my old dead box was one that hasn't been current for at least 5+ years - and was an older model than the one I was turning in (also looked like kids with sticky peanut butter fingers played with it too). So I returned to my old habit of ordering a new replacement box over the phone - and having it mailed. Costs $9.95 for shipping. And there is an overlap in terms of X boxes versus having X+1 boxes. So you pay a couple of days extra for the new rental box before you return the old one.

I assume that I'm not the only one who gets PO'd about this. The only utility bill I have that's higher than my Comcast bill is my electric bill. And - at $200+/month - my Comcast bill is plenty high IMO. High enough that if I need a new replacement STB every now and then - I should get a current state of the art one that looks new. Not an old beat up piece of junk. Robyn

Uverse still isn't available here where I live in PVB (and probably never will be). My maximum AT&T internet speed here would be 12 mbps down. Which is a total joke compared to the 125 mbps down I'm getting with Comcast. As for Dish TV - not interested. Too many trees.

I honestly don't have any complaints about my Comcast service these days. Just the petty BS I have to go through when it comes to getting better equipment as opposed to old fashioned beat up set top boxes and the like when the equipment I have dies. Robyn
