And $60 is an awful lot for a men's haircut. Does your FIL get anything else done? I guess what hair things cost are mostly a function of time (and sometimes products/materials). Takes a little < an hour for me and my husband (shampoo and hair cuts for both of us). Robyn
I think my wife goes every 2 months or thereabouts. As for my FIL, that $60 may include tip now that I think about it. I'll ask him again. He's pretty generous when it comes to tipping so it very well may be a $40 haircut.

My wife goes every 6-8 weeks and pays around $300 with tip. She goes to a 'master stylist' if that is the correct term. It takes around 3 hours or so and I'm pretty sure they serve champagne/wine, which they should at that price!

In contrast, I buy a Wahl every 5 years for $50 and cut my hair 1/week, which takes 10 minutes. I serve myself a Heineken.

Just confirmed with FIL. Ten Salon charges him $40 and he tips $20.

Hahaha, I think it's a guy actually. He's a very big tipper if you do a good job for him. I always see him tipping $10-$20 to valets and then I come along after him with $3 in hand...

Wendy at Luna Azul in St. Augustine. She's a small, owner-operated shop, and she is very knowledgeable with color. She goes to conferences multiple times a year to keep learning and stay on top of new techniques. It's might be longer than you think you want to drive from the northern part of the county, but I always appreciated the excuse to head down to St. Augustine and walk around for an afternoon every 6-7 weeks!
