Is there any hope of something like a grocery store opening up in downtown Jax? I have noticed many people have mentioned the need for one, but are there any actual plans or any talk of some sort on the subject?

well, there's Publix on the west of downtown (Riverside), a winn-dixie (under remodeling) on the west end. There's nothing in the middle. Land there isn't cheap there right now I think, and they'll need the land for parking space.

Anyone attending the First Wednesday Art Walk can view The Library plans -- the building is always open with some kind of exhibit or event, and the plans are always on display. I love the whole idea--quite a magnet in my opinion and creates a purpose in the future for going downtown--and I'm happy that the 1960s architecture will be kept on the facade.
