Hello,
My family and I are relocating in the summer from NJ. We've checked out all of SJC on a recent trip and love it. But, I just recently came across Fleming Island. Can anyone give me some info on it? We like SJC because of the schools. FI seems to have good schools as well. Are there chain stores there and conveniences? Is it kid friendly? We have 3 children so a development with children is a must. Our budget is 300-325,000. Thank you!

Hi Kbog, there are a few threads on here that talk about Fleming Island and might be helpful if you do a search. I came across them when researching the area over a year ago. Also sent you a PM.

I agree with deeni - do a search on the Jacksonville forum for Fleming Island and you'll see detailed answers to your questions about FI. Good schools - yes. Chain stores and restaurants and conveniences - yes. (Non-chain stores and restaurants - yes.) Kid friendly - yes. Developments with lots of kids and in your budget range - yes. We chose FI (Eagle Harbor) over SJC, so I'm a bit biased :-)

It would depend on where you are working. Both have traffic problems, I think St Johns County will get worse since it is growing exponentially and has more room for growth. Fleming Island is more build out so traffic will not increase as much in my estimation.

FI is similar to newer developments in SJC. Look around and see what fits your life better
