I think I found the primary cause which is paying huge amount of Taxes. I am aware of paying Taxes are good for infrastructures but if I make 80k a year in FL state, nearly 20k goes toward Tax deduction.

You're actually not paying a state income tax in FL. FL gets a good chunk of tax revenue from sales taxes and bed taxes, due to our higher amount of tourism.

Wow, how about some gratitude that you have a good job? If you lived in a different state you would be paying more taxes than $20K.

Suggest that you work on your grammar...

If I recall from prior posts, English is not the OP's first language. Be gentle, sir or ma'am.

Right. And I'm pretty sure the OP doesn't have such a high paying job...was just using that as an example.

The primary cause is that many of us buy buy buy and don't save save save.

We live and die by credit.

I know several people who earn less than $40k a year and have paid off their mortgage. They live modest lives and have money to buy what they want.

If I remember correctly your job was a pizza delivery person. So you likely get paid minimum wage and all tips are likely taken under the table too, on top of paying no state income taxes. You probably pay less in taxes than 99% of the US population.

Death and Taxes. You know what they say. Mabest why do you think America is broken? What would you do to fix it?

Taxes are not the reason "Some" Americans are always broke. Assuming we are talking about people not living in poverty but instead are making 80K as you point out, the main reason IMHO is spending. Some people must buy the most expensive house, car, furniture they can buy. On the other hand there are a few Americans that are savers.

In some states we are overtaxed, many in the norteast and CA come to mind. That said, many DO overspend and create a hole that is very hard to dig out of! You have to live within your means.
