I am a single senior thinking of moving to St. Augustine. Any suggestions for safe, lively location? What is the best area for meeting people and having something to do. Love the beach and would appreciate info on the best ones in the area.
Any walking areas to go with dog? Are any of the beaches dog friendly? Thank you for any opinions.

It is my understanding that dogs are allowed on the beaches, but they must be leashed.

I just read yesterday on the Jax beach site I believe that they are allowed ont he beaches between 5p and 9a. They also must be leashed and have their vaccination tags on and of course, you'll need to pick up the "leftovers" lol.

I'm partial to Anastasia Island. It's a barrier island, so you have the beach there (and it's a really pretty beach). It has a real "beachy" feel, it doesn't look like a modern day suburb plunked on the beach. You'd be close to everything you need including downtown St. Augustine for nightlife.

Yes, I think that's true for Jax. But for St. Augustine beach, I believe they are not restricted time wise, just must be on leases.
