I need help too! My husband is getting transfered to Mayport NS and while we have rented apartments here in Hampton Roads Virginia we are looking for a home to rent because we need more space for our buck. We wouldn't mind living in an apartment again so I'm keeping everyone's recomendation of Huntington @ Hidden Hills as an option. So my question is: Where is a very safe, quiet, 20 mins. or less drive to base and FCCJ, to raise our 7 month old son? I'm not sure what rental homes go for but our max is $1000. Can someone help shed some light on where I should start my search?

$1000 might be a little low for renting a home in a decent neighborhood. If you can go to $1200, $1300, you would have more options for a home rental.

I have been extensively searching rental property online for about 3 months now and there is alot out there for a little over $1000, some for the $900 range. My husband has only been in the navy for 3 and 1/2 years so we are still in E-4 BAH range which is 1062/mo for this area. I am assuming that your husband is higher ranking most likely and probably getting closer to 1200 or above. You should be able to find something nice for that price. You just REALLY have to look.
