Hi,

I'm looking for a nifty chart of high speed internet providers in Jacksonville and how much each cost per month.

How much is AT&T?

I got AT & T stand alone internet for 40 something the first year (special 12 month price)and it just went up, this month, to $63 after the 1 year anniversary. I have not had one problem with it. I work from home using a VPN network and I rarely lose a connection. Comcast, however, was constantly dropping my VPN (even though the speed test was more than adequate) Horrible customer service with Comcast and I am very happy with AT & T.

We just switched our service from Comcast to AT&T Fiber this past Wednesday. Never going back if I don't have to!

With Comcast we were paying $60/mo for their one-year special (30MB/s download, 5MB upload High-speed internet and basic cable). Regular price for their internet alone is like $70-75, I think. Lots of problems with random outages. Every day around noon and 8 p.m. our internet would crap out and we'd have to reboot our wireless router, sometimes several times, to restore it.

AT&T just added Fiber to our neighborhood and we signed up for their special deal--1GB/s service with no monthly data cap for $80/month. Fan-freakin'-tastic! I've been getting download/upload speeds on my desktop wireless of around 150-200MB/s and plan to hook up an ethernet cable so I can take full advantage of the 1GB speed. No dropouts thus far, and I haven't had to touch my wireless router.

We have Comcast - cheaper to bundle with basic local channels TV than just the internet alone - pay $85.37 after taxes and fees for the 75 Blast speed. Never had any issues. (Only when setting up or moving - once it is in place it works fine, they just screw up everything when making changes...)

I was just looking at the updated pricing for this year, hoping to save a little by either scaling back, or cutting off TV completely. The packages seem to pretty much eliminate any cost savings, though, unless I scaled back the Internet speed to a lower tier. I'll have to look at that more closely, since we would still want to use our streaming devices.

Wish AT&T Fiber would hit Julington Creek Plantation so there would be some competition.

Unfortunately the AT&T Fiber service hasn't affected Comcast's pricing one bit. And from what I hear at least in our neighborhood the Fiber service isn't very reliable yet. As much as I loathe Comcast and their horrid customer service the internet here for us has been rock solid for 3 years. It even stayed up during Hurricane Matthew.
