So, were any of you among the throng of folks who enjoyed the Art Walk last night? I have never seen so many people! And yahoo the Shugar Shack was open! Dag nap it the river tours were done by the time we got to the Landing - anyone go out on the Riverkeeper's boat?

As an FYI .. anyone who finds themselves downtown should stop into the library to see:

New View, the Many Faces of the St. Johns River (Douglas Anderson student interpretation of the St. Johns River. A 30-foot mixed media mural, including paintings, sculptures, photography and printmaking.)
Library Program - Jacksonville Public Library (http://jaxpubliclibrary.org/progs/main/main_rivermural_032008.html - broken link)

and

Canstruction - it's AMAZING to see sculptures made entirely from can goods!
This link refers to last year's Canstruction, but you'll get the idea.

I was ready to go, but had a situation arise that prevented me from attending. I REALLY wanted to go on the Riverkeeper boat ride. Nexy month, I guess, although the weather will never be better than it was last night.

How about the first Friday art walk in St Augustine? Have you been?

I wish they did the Art Walk on weekends once in a while....maybe a few times a year?

Weeknights at that time are so difficult for me, we're not a 9-5 household and going somewhere at 6 or 7pm takes a lot of juggling to make it happen.

A Saturday or Sunday day or night would be so much easier.

I have a few suggestions for the powers-that-be who run the Walk -- I'll add weekends to my list of ideas.
