Our house is under contract and we will be moving very soon. I have been looking online for homes to rent in the Southwood and Mandarin/Losco areas. Both of these feed into Mandarin Middle School. Is there a difference in either area? Are they nice and are they safe? Would you let your kids ride their bikes around the neighborhood out of site and feel okay? Looking for homes in the $1,250 to $1,450 range and there seems to be some there.

There is also a home around St. Josephs Road in 32223. Does anyone have insight into this area with the same questions as above applying?

Thank you for your help.

I live near that area in 32258. I have lived, and I manage properties, in that area, as well. I see a lot of kids walking to/from school, in addition to bike riding. Historically, Mandarin is one of the nicer areas of Jax. My oldest is just finishing 7th grade MMS. She's very happy there. I'm going to send you PM.

How is Mandarin high school? Do most kids take the bus to school?
