Hi,

I plan on moving to Jacksonville next summer. My son and I suffer from terrible allergies and I find eating local honey helps. I would like to order some Jacksonville honey so we can start taking it now so hopefully when we get there our bodies will be used to the local pollens. Are allergies really bad in Jacksonville? Does anyone have any information on local farms that sell honey from bees that are in Jacksonville? Thank you for the information

I had pretty bad allergies in NJ from late April to early June (I'm allergic to every tree pollen except for pine). I'd have sneezing fits and extreme eye irritation for 6-7 weeks during those months and needed to take various prescription medication to control it.

Down here, something is always sprouting year round but it's definitely not as bad as it is up north. In NJ, it's a pollen explosion concentrated around 2 months. Here, it's a slow release for 12 months. I'd have sneezing fits every now and then but I no longer have eye irritation.

My son had allergies and asthma very badly in PA. When we moved to FL, I was very nervous about how he would react. He had two very bad flares when we first moved down but since then he has been sooo much better than in PA. So you may be pleasantly surprised!

Thank you all for your replies, I will check into all of them. I currently live in Las Vegas, NV and after living all over the world this has been the worst place for allergies that I have lived. I developed asthma due to allergies and get terrible headaches here. It is so bad that the last six years here I have had to get allergy shots. I figured if my son and I start on the Jacksonville honey, we won't have such a system shock when we move and can hopefully get rid of the shot routine out of our lives for good!
