Hello, I think I have found an state licensed contractor to demolish the mobile home. He says he will pull the permit, but I will have to sign a "certificate of commencement", he says this protects me. What does this term mean and how does it benefit me? Thanks in advance.

Are you sure it’s not the “Notice Of Commencement”?

"Certificate of commencement" his words, but certificate sounded like licensing, So I called Tallahassee and they said their license is good until mid 2018, I didn't ask for a copy. But why would they use this term? The company should know the difference. Reading the statute "notice of commencement" it is clearly different. Having an attorney involved in this might be a good idea to avoid problems with this company and the city. Thanks again.
