2017-2018 Household Hazardous Waste and E-Waste Mobile Collection Events:


The Solid Waste Division will host twelve household hazardous waste and electronic waste (e-waste) mobile collection events throughout the city. The schedule for this year is as follows. Directional signage will be posted on the day of the event. The HHW Event is held 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

January 6, 2018 – Oceanway Park: 12215 Sago Ave.
January 20, 2018 – Jacksonville Beach Public Works Department: 1460 Shetter Avenue, Jacksonville Beach
February 10, 2018 – Baker Skinner, 7641 Powers Ave
March 3, 2018 –Ed Austin Regional Park: 3450 Monument Road
March 17, 2018 –Blue Cypress Park: 4012 University Blvd. N.
April 7, 2018 - Mandarin Park: 14780 Mandarin Road
April 21, 2018 - Drew Park, 6621 Barnes Road South
May 5, 2018 - Jacksonville Beach Public Works Department: 1460 Shetter Avenue, Jacksonville Beach
May 19, 2018 - Ed Austin Regional Park: 3450 Monument Road
June 9, 2018 - 9A / Baymeadows Regional Park 8000 Baymeadows Road East

Household Hazardous Waste

Household hazardous wastes cannot be collected curbside with regular trash. Residents may bring these items, however, to one of the scheduled mobile collection events or they may take items to the Household Hazardous Waste Facility located at 2675 Commonwealth Ave.
Types of waste which may be brought to one of the mobile events or to the HHW Facility include:

  • Paint
  • Paint thinners and paint strippers
  • Rechargeable batteries
  • Photographic chemicals
  • Thermometers and thermostats
  • Drain cleaners
  • Pool chemicals
  • Aerosol cans
  • Pesticides
  • Antifreeze
  • Fertilizer
  • Acids
  • Gun powder
  • Ammunition and fireworks
  • Fluorescent bulbs and tubes, including CFL light bulbs
  • 20-pound propane cylinders
Disposing paint/motor oil limits are 27 gallons of paint and/or 27 gallons of motor oil in a 30 day period per Duval County Resident.
