Hello,

I am thinking to buy a new car (like Honda Civic Hatchback, Hyundai Elantra Hatchback, ...) in Jacksonville FL. Does anyone know how to find a good selling price on the new cars in Jacksonville FL?

Thank you in advance!

Its the same everywhere. You decide what car you want and then go to every dealer that carries that brand and get the best deal. I bought our car in Orlando. If you are looking at a base model there is not that much room to deal. Good luck.

Thank you for the information!

Does one brand car dealer sell other brands cars? For example, does the Honda dealer sell only the Honda cars?

Yes if you want a new car its usually the one brand per location unless you are in a small city.

If you aren't good at negotiating car prices, just check for the car you want and subtract 10%. Offer the dealer that much and if they say no, then go to the next dealer and target the same make/model/trim. Do that 2-4 times and the dealer will start competing for your business. Know that some cars have more built in profit between invoice price and MSRP and high demand makes this tougher.

Example - If I want a Honda that costs 30,000, take 10% away and that's 27,000. That is what I offer.

It depends on the level of trim of the car. The base models usually have less markup. Beware of dealer installed options which drive up the price as well as the "dealer fee" which can be north of $500. We recently bought a new car and went to Orlando where there was no "dealer fee" and saved $799
