We are attracted to this area because it seems to have many mid century modern style houses. It looks nice, but it seems very reasonable. Is there a reason for that?

As empty nesters, schools are not important. We are interested in homes built in the mid century period - 1950s-60, with original details, if possible.

If there are other mid century enclaves, please tell us about them.

It is smack dab in the middle of what is by and large considered a dying and dangerous suburb. There are a few young pioneers who try to move in and turn things around but it seems the tide is never quite turning.

Arlington was the first major suburb built in Jax after the auto era...and it boomed for a couple generations. But it has been in decline for 20 years now and like I said debatable whether it's coming back yet or not.

Sorry I do not know where else I would recommend as an alternative for mid-century homes. Perhaps in the San Jose area between Baymeadows and University.
