Is this like in Mexico where they just walk to the fence line and toss it over the side? How is that legal here?

There is just no way burning garbage is legal. I don't care if you don't get residential garbage service, there are only certain things that can be legally burned and household garbage isn't one of them. Even burning paper isn't legal as it could lead to bigger fires if the wind picked up.

Call the county for God's sake.

Florida law prohibits burning household trash. As someone else mentioned contact Bradford Garbage service and setup a collection, they will bring you a bin.

Default bin

NorthofHere,
Will they charge me for the bin?
Do you work for the county?

The fumes when inhaled can cause cancer. A lot of this garbage was probably left behind by past residents who lived where I now live. There is no garbage pickup service in this neck of the woods. I do not have transportation so there's no way to get the garbage to a city dump. Any money that I spend on renting a dumpster is money that I can NOT spend on buying myself a car. I can buy a $1 utility lighter & burn the garbage in place, way cheaper than spending hundreds of dollars on renting dumpsters. As soon as I get a car, I plan on taking any new garbage to the city dump like I used to when I last had a car.

What part of that is "needlessly" burning trash?

Oh and don't worry about the New Yorker reputation. I only have a handful of neighbors who could ever know about my garbage - and they are all New Yorkers too.

So he wants to burn his trash so we can breathe in all the carcinogens too ? Great...

You know you can buy a brand new 34 gallon garbage can for $24.99 on Amazon.

No it's not like that. I am not tossing my garbage over anyone's lines.

Just a few corrections.

1. So you want me to pile my trash up to the clouds so all the wildlife in Florida can scatter my garbage all over the place, including off my property?

2. Don't worry you are not going to breathe in my smoke. I live in the middle of nowhere and there are rarely any people around to breathe it in.

3. Thank you for all your assumptions. Perhaps next time try reading more carefully.
