Can someone give me the pros and cons of Nocatee and other Master Planned Communities in St. Johns County? We are looking to move to Saint Johns County with our 2 young daughters (1 mos and 18 mos). We have visited Nocatee and love all the great amenities and the number of families, but are curious if we are missing out on some of the other communities we've heard mentioned (Beacon Lake, Julington Creek, etc.) Thanks for the info!

There are so many planned communities in SJ Co that it would be hard to compare them all. I will say that Nocatee blows most everyone away in terms of their amenities. When we were looking they had the best gym and the best pools. We decided against it because we couldn't find a perfect house for our budget and we felt Nocatee was a bit isolated from other parts of the County and Jax. But I think anyone with small kids would do great there. I can't really say anything negative about it other than it's a bit further away from a lot of things.

I agree with Florida2014. I was in the same boat as you except I already lived in north Florida and my kids are a little older. I was comparing all the other places to Nocatee and it was a no brainer. This was all before beach walk came along but still. Shearwater and Rivertown are very nice, don't get me wrong but my thought was - If I am going to pay CDD fees, it just feels a little more worth it in Nocatee.
